AND COLLECTION Contemporary Art is pleased to present YOICHIRO ANDO's solo exhibition "2GEN."

In many of YOICHIRO ANDO's works, the faces of the people are partially hidden.

By hiding part of the face, the artist cuts off the source of information gained from the senses, allowing viewers to contemplate the emotions and personalities of others, reexamine who they are and what their purpose in life is, and suggests to them the importance of breaking away from prejudice and pressure and seeing things by their own standards.

The COVID-19 pandemic that shook the world in 2020 has dramatically changed our everyday lives and has created a rapid need for changes in communication to accompany our lifestyles. In today's information-saturated society, various speculations and information are flying around, restrictions on behavior and speech, and peer pressure have created a mysterious sense of anxiety and confusion, leaving people exhausted by a sense of helplessness and frustration.

This work asks us to reconsider our insight into people living today, and encourages liberation to live life as we are.

This exhibition marks a new chapter in which he transcends the sensibilities and expressive techniques he has cultivated through his work as YOICHIRO, embodying his own art as a new artist under the name "YOICHIRO ANDO."

This first solo exhibition will feature a giant three-dimensional object on the central staircase of Omotesando Hills, as well as workshops, live painting and events in the gallery.

At the workshop, you will attach a "How Do You Feel" sticker to YOICHIRO's artwork, reflecting your current feelings, and create a one-of-a-kind piece of art together with everyone.
