AND COLLECTION Contemporary Art is pleased to present Craig Alan's solo exhibition "Come Together" at our gallery in Omotesando Hills .
This exhibition will feature a number of new works from the Populous series, a representative work of American artist Craig Alan, which depicts groups of people forming groups.
The inspiration for this series began when the artist was staying at his mother's condominium in Florida, taking photos, and happened upon a wedding taking place on the beach, where a large crowd of people formed a large eyeball. After spending about a year and a half studying the shadows created by people, the Populous series was completed. The figures in the works include his family and friends, and his unique and delicate touch allows him to find individuality in each person's clothing and appearance. Depending on the piece, anywhere from 400 to 1,800 people are meticulously depicted, and it takes between 50 and 150 hours to complete a single piece.
