AND COLLECTION Contemporary Art is pleased to present Saccharani Ai's "Days of Celebration."

Influenced by her father, an oil painter, Sakkarani Ai has been familiar with painting since childhood, and has roots in Japan, the UK, and India. Having studied at both an international school and a public school, she has cultivated her sensibilities in a diverse range of cultures. Combining geometric shapes and natural motifs, she creates works that create rhythm and depth on the canvas with vibrant colors and powerful brushstrokes.

While changing his techniques for each series, he attempts to express the layers of time by scraping paint, or to project the memories of the land using stones and glitter. The underlying theme of all his works is "time and circulation."

In the "Festival Series," a single vertical line runs through the center of the work, creating a quiet, tense axis throughout the entire canvas. It evokes the flow of time, from the past to the present and on to the future. In our daily lives, we often find ourselves comparing ourselves to others and focusing on invisible evaluations.

However, when you stand in front of this work, memories of family and quietly accumulated time - things that are familiar and certain to each of you - gently rise up. The "Celebration" series is painted to overlap with such everyday feelings. As a celebration for encountering your own time.

Please come to the venue and experience the sense of time that the works evoke.
Please enjoy the exhibition while bringing together your own memories and experiences.

Artist Message

Looking back on my life, the things that helped me through the times I was feeling down weren't special events. It was the scenery I saw as a child, or the time I spent with my family. Those were the memories that helped me get through it.

As I get older, my perception of time has changed. I feel more and more that each day is not just mine, but that the present exists on the foundation of what I have received and that I am in the process of passing it on to the next generation.

Of course, sometimes we get carried away by busyness.
However, if you look back at the time you have accumulated, your doubts will decrease and you will have a clearer idea of what you need to do.

My works are born from confronting these everyday situations. In the midst of our busy lives, I stop for a moment and think about where I came from and where I am heading.
I hope this will be an opportunity for you to think about such things.
