メキシコ・ドゥランゴ出身、現在はニューヨーク・ブルックリンを拠点に活動するデザイナー兼アーティスト。IT’S A LIVINGはRicardo Gonzalezのアーティスト名。 Mohawk Collegeでグラフィックデザインを学び、ニューヨークのCooper Unionではタイプフェイスデザインを学んだGonzalezは、レタリング、タイポグラフィ、カリグラフィを横断しながら、言葉とイメージの関係性を探求しています。 「IT'S A LIVING」は単なるステートメントではなく、Gonzalezにとって創作と生き方を結びつける哲学でもあります。流れるようなスクリプトスタイルは大規模な壁画からブランドワーク、ストリートのステッカーまで一貫して展開され、ひと目で彼の作品とわかる強い視認性を持っています。言葉の直接性と曖昧さを通して、鑑賞者との対話を生み出しています。 これまでにApple、Nike、Google、Toyota、Microsoft、Pepsi、Samsung、Vansなど、世界的ブランドとのプロジェクトを多数手がけてきました。ストリートカルチャー、グラフィックデザイン、現代アートを横断する表現は、都市空間や商業空間の中でも高い存在感を放ち、ポジティブなメッセージと洗練されたタイポグラフィによって国際的に支持を集めています。
