This exhibition features seven artists working under the theme of "Reach Beyond -To the unknown."
This group exhibition aims to create expressions that connect each artist's path to the future.

Each and every one of them has sincerely tackled their own creations, and through trial and error, they have explored the possibilities that lie ahead for the future.

The accumulation of creating and sharing works and quietly expanding expression will draw in the light that leads to the future.

This exhibition was born from the desire to share that light with viewers.

We will introduce a collection of works created with the thoughts that each artist puts into the phrase "Reach Beyond -To the unknown."

Itaya Utaのポートレート
Itaya Uta

Born in 1998 in Aichi Prefecture. Shifting from pen-and-ink to acrylic paint, he depicts inner emotions and unconscious worldviews as patterns take shape on the canvas. The organic patterns exude a presence as if they were alive, and when combined with abstract brushstrokes and patterns, they create graphic colors and joyfulness that incorporate ingenious devices. The act of layering the paint itself brings a sense of security and warmth, and he aims to share this feeling with the viewer and create works that soothe the soul.

井上 魁のポートレート
井上 魁

Born in 2000, from Ehime Prefecture.
Graduated from Tama Art University Graduate School of Fine Arts, Department of Crafts, Ceramic Research Area. Inoue combines the pottery techniques he has been familiar with since childhood with street culture to create three-dimensional works based on the concept of "preserving what disappears." For Inoue, "ceramics" are an unchanging medium that conveys culture and values across the ages while staying close to daily life, and a means of expression that captures the fleeting aspects of the city. He sees the street as a symbol of the modern era, and carves its physical energy and layering into ceramics, presenting traces of the changing times and his own existence.

HARUNA SHIKATAのポートレート
HARUNA SHIKATA

Born in 1996, from Kanagawa Prefecture.
Graduated from Kuwasawa Design School. The emotions and experiences stored in the brain can sometimes be a source of strength, but they can also be negative triggers that erode self-confidence. SHIKATA focuses on memories that remain unupdated and "overwrite" them (information, emotions, and personal experiences) to create his works. He processes and edits photographs, text, and drawings linked to experiences and emotions, and reconstructs them using a variety of methods, including UV jet ink, silver leaf, and paint. He creates works as an attempt to transform the past into new existences and move forward into the future.

Marino Funahashiのポートレート
Marino Funahashi

Born in 1989, from Aichi Prefecture.
Influenced by his father, a painter, he became familiar with painting from an early age. He graduated from the Department of Spatial Design at the Graduate School of Art and Design, Musashino Art University. He focuses on the colors, shapes, temperatures, and time contained in memory, abstracting coexisting landscapes and expressing them as compositions. He explores the relationship between color and texture, transposing it into coexistence and harmony in the modern world, and seeks an ideal worldview. Based on the concept of "symbolic abstraction," which is non-representational yet connects with sensations and memories, he uses the afterimage of brushstrokes and the physical thickness of time to quietly question the subtle emotions and sensations that lie deep within the viewer.

MEGのポートレート
MEG

Born in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture.
The COVID-19 pandemic made him realize the finiteness of time, and he began working in earnest in 2022. With a background of "self-repression" gained through his roughly 10 years of martial arts experience, he has developed the themes of "self-liberation" and "human emotions" in his "Liberty" and "Emotions" series. Focusing on the layers of "showing" and "hiding" emotions that people wear in order to live in society, he delicately and powerfully depicts this discrepancy, as well as the strength, kindness, and beauty that lie within humans, by overlaying smiling faces onto animal silhouettes.

弓指 貴弘のポートレート
弓指 貴弘

Born in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
He completed a Master's degree at Kyushu Sangyo University's Graduate School of Art and Design. He transformed the increasingly complex nature of modern society, such as social media relationships and iconicized human relationships, into characters in his "Toon Demon" and "Mirror of the Soul" series. His works express the contradictions of taking on different personalities depending on interpersonal relationships and the environment, and the resulting conflict with one's "true self." While affirming the way we use different masks (personas) in society, he questions the self that is often lost in the process, and bases his work on a sense of peace that lurks in the everyday.

WAKANAのポートレート
WAKANA

Born in 1998, from Kanagawa Prefecture.
By entrusting balloons with emotions that cannot be put into words and are locked away in the heart, the artist expresses the creative process of confronting human relationships. Based on the concept of "PROGRESS," the artist focuses on the process by which emotions change and fade over time. The way the depiction changes depending on the relationship between adjacent balloons, light, and overlapping overlaps with the way people live their lives influenced by their environment and others, depicting the invisible process where time and emotions intersect.
